Title: It has been 7 days
Post by: Morgray on August 13, 2007, 07:27:47 PM
Since I ordered my pickups, but i think I made a mistake in my order, and put in the wrong credit card holders name. Minutes after making this mistake though I emailed Tim, and told him that I think I put in the wrong name, and told him the correct name. It has been 7 days since then and he hasn't emailed me back, I don't even know if my order went through or not :(. I guess I should just wait it out, but how long should I wait before assuming that the order didn't go through? This is my first BKP order

Can you not check the credit card account on the phone or online?

If the order has been posted, it may just be delayed in the post.  We've had Royal Mail strikes the last few weeks and - in my area at least - things that would normally turn up next day are taking a week.

It seems to be affecting international mail particularly badly.  I've only just received a couple of orders from the US which were posted over a month ago, including one from StewMac - their stuff normally shows up in less than a week.

stuff from stew-mac will only make it in less than a week if you go with the DHL 3-7 days option.  Its normally 2-3 weeks anyway with the post office.  I ordered some stuff last monday afternoon and it turned up wednesday morning - less than 48 hours with the dhl option!!

Beg to differ, Wez, I've had several StewMac orders turn up in less than a week even with the regular Airmail option.  The same with DVDs, of which I've bought hundreds from the US.

The post seems to go through inexplicable phases though - it'll be very quick for a couple of months then suddenly take 2 or 3 times as long.

must have got quicker then - i have stuck to the DHL option for the last few years after they started turning up in less than 48 hours.  whenever i used to use the normal post option it would be at least two weeks - which still wasnt bad!

whenever i order anything else from the US its never here in less than two weeks :(  i guess it sits in customs for a few days each time.  Thats what i like about DHL - they deliver the parcel first then send you a customs bill at the end of the month.  Handy when you need some parts in a hurry!!

Went to the sorting office today to pick up some Books which was delivered while I was in the shower - So they had to leave me a red tab.

Got there and they can't find it, and haven't got any records of it - And they can't get into the computer system cos they ain't got the manager's password xD

I want my books xD

Royal Mail really is a farce sometimes.

i have been sitting waiting for parcels before when the 'sorry you were out' card has come through the letter box - no knock or anything!!  I chased after the post woman to let her know i was actually in and she confessed that she had not brought the parcel out with her anyway because it was raining

this meant that i had to get on my bike in the rain and go pick it up from the depot

i was not happy!!!

Ah, mail strikes. Might explain why I haven't received my p'ups yet. They usually take ~2 weeks to get to Aus but it's been 3 weeks now.
