-
decided to give it a miss this year but i am gutted that i will miss smashing pumpkins!!
I have already had 3 camping trips this year since june (including glasto) and been rained out on all of them!!
-
I have weekend tickets.
prepare face muscles and.....
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Caffeine, fancy meeting with some bottles for panic at the fall out boy?
I was going with 4 friends but all but one has dropped out and he WANTS to see the emo bands
no amount of violence has made him see the light. possibly because it saves him hurting himself, perhaps he enjoys it?
I'm looking forward to Chilis, kings of leon and the hold steady here.
also Razorlight, because both my parents and my GRAN has seen them, but I haven't :plasma:
Oh yeah, and gogol bordello!
[singing inanely] :note: :note: :note: start wearing a purple, wearing a purple :note: :note: :note: [/singing inanely]

Gogol are hilarious - My sister has seen them about 10 times, they're weird as hell though :p
-
The Q review of gogol bordello live in italy has a massive picture of Eugene Hutz standing on a bass drum being carried aloft by the audience, singing.
Can't wait.
-
stood standing in the rain with a few cans of cider at glasto watching gogol bordello - - well worth it!!
-
lol kool, defs seeing gogol bordello, kings of leon, and klaxons, but not a huge fan of rhcp or razorlight so probs miss them
... and as for throwing bottles of unsanitary liquids at the emo kids, i'm game, except if it's anything like the last festival i went to i'll be too shitefaced by that point to be able to do anything :D
have you recieved your ticket already then??
-
not yet, but I wouldn't miss throwing human waste produce at some wrist-slitting poof's over coiffured hair for the world. :D
I wish I could be hammered by mid saturday - curse the government and my date of birth

lol call that an excuse?? i'm only just 18, and you should see the pictures of me by half 11 saturday morning [not a pretty sight] :D
-
just curious, did you order your ticket straight from the reading organisers??
-
no, aloud
-
i'm going too! Can't bloody wait - still gotta get me a tent though. Who are you guys going to see?
-
kings of leon, klaxons, albert hammond jr, good shoes etc.
and as for tents, try halfords, they do some reasonably cheap tent deals atm, and they're cr@p enough that you can trash them and run away at the end of the weekend :D
-
try tesco for tents, they are £10 for a two man one that pops up or something
-
HOW MUCH DID IT KICK ASS!?
My top bands were (in order)
Gallows (holy hell. just the best live band i've ever seen - just mental)
The Bronx (never partied so hard in my life)
Smashing Pumpkins (Always wanted to see them. Live show was much like their recorded material in that there's a whole load of shitee, but some absolute $%ing gold if you can be arsed to wait for it)
The Casualties (I love seeing bands i've never seen before, but managing to pick up the lyrics. punk rock chants are where it's at)
Shiny Toy Guns (Awesome techno rock, FIT singer)
The Sounds (Another FIT singer, and really great stage presence - Guitarist playing sat on the shoulders of the keyboardist - too cool)
Also the Firetusk Painproof Circus was wicked-cool. 4 inch nails hammered into the face, darts in the back, motorbikes running over people lying on a bed of nails, throwing knives - SUPER entertaining.
Had the best campsite aswell - My friend got there at 9am on the wednesday and set us up a camp in Y1 (as in the one right next to the arena). There was no mud there, and it was pretty quiet for sleeping in too, other than the fairground behind us. ALSO great view of the Manwash
Didn't wanna come home.

lol how kool was gallows singer getting a tattoo on stage pml
did anybody else see the maccabees secret gig in the nokia tent??? feckin amazing

i know! what was even kewler tho was me catching him wen he went crowd surfing, and my friend pat catching him wen he jumped off the pole in the middle of the tent.
My gf saw the maccabees, but fell asleep. musta been good, lol.
-
did you see Municiple Waste?
SO $%ING FUNNY.
"THISSSSS SOOOOOONG IS ABOUT MOSHING.... ON JESUS'SSSSS FACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
never got a stitch from laffing before.
-
lol nah, i spent most of my time drinking and raving out in the nme tent, gotta love a bit of Hadouken! and klaxons
*raves*
-
sorry I'm late- been on hols.
Highlights:
Gogol Bordello
Johnny Borrell falling over (yes, I went to see Razorlight)
Dan le sac vs. scroobius pip- never heard of them but the dance tent was great fun, even though I didn't know any of the bands or songs.
Young Knives
Red Hot Chili Peppers- Much Like Indysmith with SP, there was shite (in this case filling half the encore with fretwank) but I'd always wanted to see them, and the hits made up for it.
Pull Tiger Tail- should be huge. Mr 100% is a £&%!ing TUNE. also I got my only festival freeby there- A tiger mask which I wore for the rest of the day
Seasick Steve- Just the blues done proper. To be in an audience feeling this adoration (it was here that I finally lost my voice) to a blues player on a day where the main stage was filled with emo was brilliant. And he was absolutely the real deal, and funny. I was going to leave after him, and I really wanted to go during peter bjorn and john. but I'm glad I stayed there for my total festival highlight:
The Hold steady- An absolute diamond. I'm so glad I stayed in the carling tent over seeing the pumpkins or klaxons, because I was right at the front for the hold steady. A really superb straight up rock band, boys and girls in america is now my favourite album, and It was the perfect way to end the festival.
