Yes there is a rhythmic delay, which makes it sound even more complex and big, it is still hard to hit the rhythm right on such picking and string skipping speed

As far as bluegrass and classical fingerpicking goes, it's not that complicated. For rock music it sounds nice, textured and more complex.

Any good classical or bluegrass player can teach you to play that.

There's plenty of DVD's out there covering finger picking techniques. Playing rockabilly, I should learn it sometime.

Thats IS how we play here in Texas. Fingerpickin ####!!ry mix with rock, ala Rev. Gibbons :)

Classical/Country/Bluegrass and some Blues. Anyone teaching these genres will help ya.

thats good. its weird, although i've taken electric guitar lessons for about 3 or so years now, i think i'm naturally a better finger picker. i learned classical gas in like 3 days, yet i can't even play the whole crazy train solo. what he's doing in this song is the one thing i can't do. i can't just thumb a straight rhythm note while playing other stuff with the fingers.

Thanks for all the tips guys. Maybe I should come over to Texas and become the apprentice to a bluegrass/country player. I always love when Joey Bonamassa picks with his fingers, so probably training those right hand stickies might be good for sth in the end ...

This topic reminded me of a clip my brother showed me. Its a Mike Oldfield video on the and I was blown away by Oldfields picking technique. He's not your standard guitar hero but I think hes a pretty awesome guitarist.
