Title: mixing it
Post by: chris o'donnell on July 28, 2005, 09:33:39 PM
I got a surprise when I mixed my BKPs on my Les Paul.

1-mule bridge Emerald neck
2-Emerald bridge Stormy Monday neck.
3-Mule bridge Stormy Monday neck ( original set up)

I can get loads of tones from these combinations and a lot of fun to go with it.

Im getting the urge for another purchase and lean towards the Crawler or Cold sweat in the bridge position, although Im not so sure if the ceramics in the CS are my cup of tea.

The Crawler demo is fab. I think its the power that attracts me to give an extra dimension to my playing.

These BKPs are too damned good. Can't get enough of them.

Do you have a favourite combination? I imagine each is good at a particular style - care to elaborate?

The nice thing with BKP is that every HB seems to have enough output to be mixed with another one. MM bridge + Mule neck? it works!
Nailbomb bridge + Riff Raff neck (like me)? It works!

My favourite is the Mule/ Stormy Monday set up which is the right combination for the band I play in.

For some rehersal high jinx the mule and Emerald combine well. the middle selection gives some funky results. I dont know if this is because Im combinig alnico IV and V, but it works.

I would like to try a Crawler or Cold Cweat in the bridge, combined with the Emerald.
