what's the difference in sound/power between alnico and ceramic powered speakers in an amp??

Ceramic are typically brighter and punchier, alnico are warmer and fatter.

Every_Mn summed it up pretty well. I have an Eminence Red Fang, which is an AlNiCo speaker, but before that I had a Celestion Vintage 30.

Ceramics have a bit more bite, while AlNiCo has a softer sound and often a bell like top end, but not the bite of ceramics.
