Don't worry, he is going to use 3 "soapbar humbuckers" so that will be fine.

Oh dear oh dear oh dear...

Video starts, and I see the most idiotic smug face the world has ever seen staring at me...

I see his caps lock key is still broken

I do like the slanted fingerboard idea (as called on the video comments) that way when it starts to pull itself apart, he can claim tis supposed to be like that.

I know it's easy to stand on the sidelines and mock people, especially with my woodwork skills, but it really would be a good thing if he gave up.

I think he is overestimating those on myspace & youtube.

On a happy note we know that he has no friends in ebay

To be fair, there are loads of humbucking bass pickups in soapbar(ish) shapes - most of the EMG range for a start.

Looking forward to watching this, but my "broadband" connection is playing up at the moment.  I was getting a quite magnificent 27K connection speed last night - it took well over an hour to load half a 7-minute YouTube clip.

He has obviously learnt some things since the last one - he is actually talking about scale length and string gauge, and god forbid - actually using a hardwood for the fretboard...

... and he confeses that the wiring never worked on the super bass.

It sounds like some of his critics actually managed to get some new words into his head which is great  but what he really needs to do is go back to the beginning and make an uber simple bass rather than continuing to try and make it more complex each time.  If he cant see that then there is really no hope for the guys guitar building career

I loved that that he made his own pickups. A fridge magnet and some copper wiring does not make a pickup.

I feel really sorry for the guy - no friends except on youtube and myspace.  He does seem like an annoying prat though so it's not extirely a mystery - it was hard enough listening to him for five minutes on that youtube video.

You gotta commend him for giving it a go though surely, he'll eventually learn from his mistakes (I hope) and start making some decent basses.

One worrying thing is not being able to wire up the electrics though.  He's throwing away money by paying someone to do this for him, it's SO simple as well.

surely it would not be that hard to wire it up right? and rather than not sell it to one of the fools out there, just do it properly.

I want to watch more of them to be amused, but to subscribe would be too supporting

GGGGG

That video is pure torture.

You could make me confess to anything if you made me watch that whole video without blinking.

I know, i did think about not posting it but i just cant help myself!!

The guy has grown since the first one, he is even willing to admit it has flaws, like being unplayable, having no working electrics, being made of inappropriate materials - you know, little stuff like that.

I am actually fairly sure that one day the guy will make a playable guitar.  After all, its not that hard!!  He certainly has the will to make guitars and a little reading and practice is all it would take.... his main issue is arrogance  and if he actually listened to his critics he would do much better!!  I know he has had lots of comments that were genuinely helpfull rather than just insulting his efforts and they all got deleted.

I say its not hard to build a playable guitar... its much harder to build one that plays well!

I'm just glad i never had a way to take a photo of the lapsteel i made when i was 17, it was fun but i am glad it didnt end up published on the web to still haunt me now!!

He's at it again then? Well, at least he does seem to be learning some lessons, but it still doesn't sound like he's on completely the right track.

Leaving aside his obvious lack of skill as a musical instrument builder, I really do feel sorry for him. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to have no 'real' friends, only virtual ones. It's actually very sad (in its real sense, not the geeky way).
