ok, i was wanting to take some pictures of my guitars and stuff. my dads nice digital camera is always at work. my mom has a pretty good digital camcorder/ camera but theres a problem with the camera portion of it. the movies go to the tape, and pictures go to an SD card. but when you go to take a picture, it just comes up with a blue screen and beeps with a flashing icon which appears to symbolize the SD card. i find it hard to believe the SD card is broken, because if you go to memory you can still view the 2 pictures that are currently on the camera. its obviously not full... can anyone think of why its not working?

Check that the SD card isn't write protected.
Eject the card and check that the contacts are clean.
If thats fine, copy the existing images off the card, then format the card, they can sometimes get scrambled.
If that dosn't help try another card (if available), as some SD cards are less compatable than others. Though that usually affects personal organisers and midia players more than cameras.
Some cameras don't like the newer high speed cards, the card may work 99% of the time but this could be in the 1% value.

thanks, thats actually what i was thinking, but i don't think i can check any of this stuff. my computer doesn't have an SD port (do newer ones?) and when i plug the camera into the usb port on the computer nothing happens. this SD card is the one that came with it, so it should work. the only thing i can see is that the guy at our work who printed out pictures for us could've accidentally changed formats.

also, on the camera, if i go to memory, there is a format option, however it says it will delete my pictures. although i doubt my mom will care if the two pictures get deleted, i think i've already tried doing that and it didn't fix it.
EDIT: ok i got the usb hookup to work. if i go to my computer, then right click on removable drive, i can go to format, and reformat. its currently in fat32, and i can change it to just FAT, will this help?
DOUBLE EDIT: i changed some options and now i can reformat to NTSF.

hey i fixed it! i reformatted to FAT. my parents sure will be happy.

Great to hear that
FAT or FAT32 would be appropiate format
