Bought a pickup of ebay for a project about a year ago. Guy told me it was a Riff Raff Bridge. Stupidly I didn't bother to check it at the time and its taken me ages to actually finish the project (about a year). Checked the resistance today and its only 5K.
Obviously not a Riff Raff bridge pick up! Does anyone know if this is likely to be the neck version or something completely different? like a mule or a Stormy Monday?
Cheers
Ben

First off, did it say 'bare knuckle pickups' on the baseplate - because it should. the rif raf is 8.3kohms but it might be ofset coils with one 5k and one 3.3k, i really dont know how tim designed it, MAke sure you are measuring black to green and red and white are connected and taped off

HA hA
i just tied red and white together and tested green to black and it came out as 10.2!
Now i'm even more confused!

In the BKP colour coding it would normally be green/white connected together, not red/white.
I don't think that's going to make much difference to the DC resistance though. Maybe it's a Black Dog?

Seems like the closest match - but the base plate doesnt look like its made of nickel its kind of dull gold/brass colour.

That sounds very wrong indeed. Does it have an engraved "Bare Knuckle Pickups" logo on the baseplate?

It does have bare knuckle stamped on the back - looks pretty authentic.

Maybe you could take a pic? All mine have had nickel-coloured baseplates.
