from the title I was thinking £1500 at max

Sorry, but I don't even see the appeal in it.
although probably plays, feels and sounds nice :)

I saw a Bacchus custom shop LP going for about £1,600 a couple of weeks ago, but that trumps it!

Some of the official Japanese Zemaitis guitars (not the licensed Grecos) are about 9 grand new.

It's not even a Hendrix Flying V (the inlays are wrong if it is just black, or the swirls are missing for dot inlays!).

I paid about $1,500 each for my Bacchus Zemaitis clones, but £2,500 is over $5,000!  I would buy this if I was looking:

Are those Orville Vee's really worth that much or is that guy just dreaming? I was eyeing an off-white one of these a couple of years back for only £350 - it had the lyre trem just like that one, same feature just off-white rather than black.

£2500? Am I missing something? The auction price is $2800, which would be about £1350?

On the subject of expensive japanese guitars, I'd kill for one of these:

http://www.fernandes.co.jp/ravelle/jpc/ravelle_jpc_obl_index.html

Japanese price converts to £1600, so about £20k when customs are done with it...

Well, for what I've listened it's like a custom made in JP, better than Gibson... then, okay... But i've never saw one and won't see in my country...

Wow, not about the $20000...

I believe only things like that PRS with a dragon's head in the body could get this price...

As pointed out - the Tokai LS-380 is actually more than the Flying V, which is not even an Orville by Gibson btw - lovely Les Paul-alike but two and a half grand is lot of money....
