Title: ebay seller music-outlet-shop, any good?
Post by: gwEm on September 26, 2007, 03:50:32 PM
i'm seriously considering a guitar music-outlet-shop is selling.

hes the german seller who has some interesting guitars, usually a bit over priced, and some hideously modified tat, very over priced.

his feedback is generally good, although by the look of it there are horror stories. not too sure if his descriptions are always accurate.

anyone with any experience?

thank alot :)

Haven't dealt with him, but by the description and images of the guitars that are there, I definately wouldn't.

I always see the same items constantly there too, seems that nobody buys the stuff

I've got no direct experience, but I wouldn't buy anything from them.  They just seem to have overpriced tat and I wouldn't feel 100% sure I was getting what I thought I was...

seems you have a similar impression to me will and twinfan...

but occasionally they have some interesting stuff (in this case a V, a guitar which I always have a weakness for). head says 'no', heart says 'yes' at this point.

hurts, but i'll probably stay clear.

I find the way the photograph stuff weird

it's always done so you cant see anything properly in my opinion- dont know if it is deliberate- certainly not helpful to the sale

I've never liked the fact that they usually only have one picture of each guitar, with the headstock pointing into the distance so you can't read it.

Maybe there are more pictures available, but I can't read the German text.

They've had a Hamer Prototype with a stripped finish for ages - it looks legit, but how knackered it may be is anyone's guess.  I'd like to buy it - but not for £425.

Side note:

That "Skull & Boner" guitar is the worst skull guitar I've ever seen!

THIS is the way a skull guitar should look:

Following on from that side note:

On the subject of Lynch guitars, I was reading the other day that his original tiger-stripe guitar weighs 14lbs!

Holy cr@p, I'd have to play it lying down.  No wonder he went on the 'roids.

Only ever found things they sell to be more expensive than they can be found in other places.  Probably best asking some Germans what they think about the seller, as the shipping prices to the UK are normally fairly steep (compared to other EU sellers) they must stay alive by selling locally.

I agree with the general consensus about the awful pics though......what a plonker!

looking through items that have been bought on their feedback, there are about 5 things over £100, maybe worth the risk for the odd £5 item though
