Gold - but slightly dulled (wouldn't go so far as to say aged)
what model is that? funny switch place
-
White open. But I might be slightly biased to that.
-
yeah, really, what model is that? i'm thinking of getting the RR5 but i'm considering a trem.
-
:? you don't recognize this guitar?...
this is the first Jackson that was ever created by Grover Jackson and Randy Rhoads
then it evolved into the modern day Randy Rhoads supervised by Randy Rhoads himself before he died.
that guitar is called today as "LTD", "Concorde", "Original Vintage Randy Rhoads" or "RR Prototype"
-
Black with golden polepieces.
but that toggle switch THERE is Ugly.
unacceptable
ahahahahah
-
black with gold screws.. keep it looking stock, those are pretty hard to find guitars
-
well I must say that is the nicest RR guitar (other than Sandoval/GMW)
all of the new ones have pickguards, FR trems, 2 control knobs and boring place pickup switch right?
-
I think gold hardware is just awful and would switch it all to black.
-
I'd say keep it Randy and keep the blacks in... or did Randy have cream ones?
-

it's brass... not gold
-
Black covers with gold polepieces.

Okay. Goldish[/b]. Happy? PDT_008
-
uncovered, zebra, gold slugs.
-

+1 but with gold slugs and screws
I was also thinking of gold covers but continuing the pinstripes from the body across the top of them, I'm not sure how the guys would do that though.
-
Matt black covers with gold screws? It's a subtle change to the original look but I think it would work quite nicely.
I would love an original-style Rhoads, terrible upper-fret access be damned. :)
-
what about a black matte covered with black allen screws and goldish engraved BKP logo?
-
GOOD too,but i preffer a black nickel cover with gold allen heads

That guitar is so gorgeous, very fancy looking (if that was steak, well, i won't got into that... )! I would say Zebras though with bleach white and jet balck (no compromises!), it will accent those nice black lines on the guitar already.
EDIT: i just thought of this, see if you can get tim to make you white pickup covers, but just extend the black lines in the center of the guitar already through the white pickup covers, i think that would look nice!

With gold screws, I think we have a winner.
Is it just me or would the high-fret access be terrible on that V? :?

mmm... that option sounds interesting but the black headstock wouldn't match the black pickups...
or can somebody do that in photoshop? it is hard to imagine :?
and the fret acces is not bad really. It is almost the same as a lespaul

I made them in paint  but you can clearly see what it would look like
-
A well made change of covers done in paint by me :D
My favorite so far! 8)

of course i know its a randy rhoads. none of the current models look like randy's though. the RR5 has the pickguard or the trem, and the RR1 doesn't have the gold hardware. is this a custom, or an older model?

Hehe yes, I saw that. I'm not a fan METHULLL guitars, but I think it's beautiful. Must be a shred monster.

+1 BUT with "Bare Knuckle Pickups" Engraved
-
why did they make the fret access so bad? none of the other Randy rhoads' are like that...
-
I think because this is Randy's prototype, they built this one the way he wanted it.
and after he passed on, I guess they made it more commercially appealing / improved it to some peoples perspectives.

the real story is that he designed both guitars. This prototype and the one you see today.

not quite. he never finished the production prototype. The RR's that are out today are just based on the one he played and Jackson just changes whatever they want to what they think will sell.

He still was making some "minor" changes on the model but... the black one is the shape of the modern RR Jacksons we all know today. The other 2 guitars he ordered were exactly the same shape as the black one but were never supervised or speced by him because he died... That is when Jackson made it a "model", named it RR and started making them with different specs and versions for the public.
