A few bars of a Nailbomb fitted to an SG through a Cornford Hurricane.
This is part of a studio recording made last week which my son's band won as Battle of the Bands prize. This is pre production mix - no pedals used - gain at about 2/3rds. May sound different after the studio has 'enhanced' it but as it is now thought it gives a good idea how a Nailbomb sounds through a cranked valve amp.

that was some pretty awesome tone going on there. Very nice. Really didn't like the vocals on that though, but everything else, top notch.

Sorry :( Wasn't trying to contribute to any particular musical genre - thought that this gave a good indication how the nailbomb really sounds. Actually as it's my son's recording, I suppose that makes me an old fart who should be listening to Thin Lizzy and the Who all day. Thanks mainly to him I have a very wide musical taste which runs from Thin Lizzy through to Killswitch Engage, SOAD etc. I like 'good' music - don't have to put any other labels on it. As the old En Vogue hit says "Free you mind and the rest will follow..."
I realise that majority clips in here tend to be metal, often through digital equipment (pod, guitar rig, amplitube) or ultra high gain amps. I've got several sets of BKP from low to high output and find that using them through a Pod, Black Box, Guitar Rig, Amplitube or whacking the gain up to max on an ubergain amp makes it more difficult to hear the subtle differences between them (also made worse by the fact that my hearing isn't as good as it used to be :( ).

You don't have to apologise for people not liking your music haha, you can play whatever you want and it's sounding great! :D
The tone is quality and it's different to what we usually get from the Nailbomb which is another bonus.

don't worry about it. i like tons of other styles besides metal too. just not a fan of this stuff. just seems to be all that occupies the radio these days...

Thanks Steve - despite my reference to digital/amp modelling above I must admit I have great difficulty deciding if your excellent clips were done via your Tonelab or a valve amp. (Still listen to Asbo!). What pedal are you using in front of the Tonelab these days? Also notice you've dropped the Mules for Holy Divers in your Les Paul.

Sounds great, really nice tone. Do your sons band have a myspace or somewhere to listen to more tracks? The first part of the clip sounds like the song might be allright - good riffage! I'm not usually into this kinda stuff but I'll give it a go :P

For my 2 pence worth, I liked the sound, thought it complemented the music and the vocals well, and thought the track sounded pretty decent too, overall production was also good - hope they kept it pretty 'raw' when finalised :)

Yes - I'd noticed your comment on the "What pedalboard" thread (Wah pedal straight into single channel amp) and your excellent Andy Timmons Cornford/Splawn clips. My son went equiped with his Marshall and Engle Screamer (both 4 channels) and a few pedals - my Hurricane was bit of an afterthought. Apparently after experimenting with a few amp/pedal setups the producer (Joe Gibb) immediately liked the Hurricane sound (no pedals). He says that Marshalls can tend to sound a bit 'fizzy' in the studio.

...Probably a bit too 'emo' for some on this forum :). These tracks were recorded last year (not with the Hurricane). I like 1830 Overture.
