...do you guys use?
For me, D'addario XL115s - 11-49.
They seem to stay in tune well, and although I like the sound of Electro-Harmonix strings, the D'addarios are vacuum-sealed.

DR Pure Blues 10s.
If I can't find them, then DR Tite Fit 10s.

I tried the RotoSound's that came with my BK's but didn't like them as much (sorry Tim).

currently i have dean markley blue steel 11-52 (with a wound third)
I might switch back to d'addario because the dean's don't seem very bright.

D'Addario EXL120-7s, 9-54 on my seven, and Dean Markley Blue Steel's on my Aria. Wil be changing to Dean Markley Blue Steel 9-56s on me 7 soon, as they've started making 9s for 7s again :) 8) .

I used to use Dean Markley Signature Series 10-46 gauge strings on all my electrics but now use Rotosound Yellows 10-46 and am contemplating moving upto 11-52s on my Les Pauls and Music Master.
I also have a few sets of Feline 10-46 gauge strings knocking around, have a set of those on my Music Master I think :)

Used Ernie Balls (never using that trash again) and D'addarios, i am still searching around for my ideal string type, but the D'addarios are always the fall-back option, they are all-around pretty reliable.

Amazing what a difference the strings make.
I used to use D'Addario .11 sets too, which I still like alot. I've switched to Feline Legs 11s though, I got a nice deal on a box of them, and I think they feel that little bit nicer.
Once I had to use Rotosound 11s, which many people dont like, although I thought were the best of the bunch - the thing is though they broke extremely easily... I won't be fitting them again. Not keen on Ernie Ball either, for different reasons.
I play with a pretty heavy right hand I suppose so, not having the strings break is important to me.

The light-heavy's are $%&#ing brilliant, I love 'em - heavier bottom set with a slightly lighter top, pretty much a mixed set of 10s and 11s.

Unsurprisingly I will say Feline strings.

They are made in the UK by Picato, and hve been really great so far.
I wanted to use a UK made product, and the Picato strings were one that I had been using for a while. Picato have ben making strings for a long time (decades) and used to be used by everybody from Richie Blackmore to Brian May at one time or another
I used to use either D'addario or La Bella Hard Rocking Steel which I used to love

Used to use Rotosound 10s but I just switched to D'Addario 11s and I noticed a huge improvement in tone. Not sure if it's because of the manufacturer or the string gauge though.
I find it surprising that your rotos broke so easily. I'm a hard picker too but I've only ever snapped a string from my Roto 10s once in 10 packets so I ended up with lots of spare E strings! The high e string on my D'Addario 11 set broke already so the spare Rotos came in very handy :)
Of course, it could well be that the reduced tension on the 10s were what made them seem stronger... Who knows.

maybe it was just a dodgy set..? who knows, but it certinally put me off them.

Nice strings - sound great and last for aaaaaages too! I bought 5 sets of 10-52 at LGS for my Ibanez and Jackson and they were brilliant.
For my Explorer I am currently the ZW 10-60 set, I like the tension on the heavier strings but GHS Boomers are cr@p!

I really like la bellas for bass, i tried felines/picato strings and was very happy with those - and love the vince ray packaging!!
generally i use d'addarios just because they are easy to get hold of and generally the quality is good. Gauge depends on scale length but i am rather fond of 11's
i had some coatedstrings in peac--k blue a while ago, think they were DR's - - they lasted absolutely ages but the blue coating did strip off from pick wear quite quick

I use Snake Oil Brand Pure Nickel in 11, when I can't get those I use DR Pure Blues 11s - there's something about pure nickel that sounds right - I tried some steel strings recently and they were too bright and buzzy.
For acoustic I used to use the D'Addario Blue Grass set but have moved to Rotosound County Golds - which have the ultimate fingerstyle tone around.

Using D'addario's but keep meaning to try Feline's out & never get round to it.

I use almost exclusively D'Addario's. 10s on my strat and 11s on my tele. Oh and 12s for my acoustic, not sure of the proper name but they are D'Addario anyway.
Though the Rotosound set that came with my BKP are working nicely in my strat. No complaints so far :lol:

I am with Elliott on the nickels. A set of 10's on my Strats and 11's on the Tele.

My hands sweat pure acid :twisted: so i use optima 10's (has also been maxima a few years back) or Elixir 10's.
Normal string last me in a set or two, Elixir's last at least a couple of months so they are still worth it to me. Optimas are just the best for me, its such a kick to play a new set of those on a vintage gibby.
Makes me think about putting a cr@ppy set of strings on a kickass guitar...... :roll:

D'Addarios for me. They have every guage set I need, and I always use stainless steel, because not only do they last longer, but bronze and nickel strings irritate my fingers. Theyre reliable too, and good strings for slide.
So I use their Jazz 12s and 13s on my acoustics and my resonators, and their 11s on my electrics. Heavier strings give better tone IMHO, and I kind of like a guitar to fight back a bit. The only exception is Newtone strings on my resonator, but only because it is mainly slide playing that I do on that and having a 16-64 set makes the thing sing
I played some guys Tele the other day with 9s, and it it felt like they were flopping round under my fingers, and there was no tone there at all.
