Anyone used one of these?

I have a relatively simple setup: guitar - Electro-Harmonix Tube Zipper - George Dennis Volume/Tremolo - BOSS DD3 (may soon be replaced with
BOSS OC2 Octave pedal) - amp.

The Tube Zipper is powered by two 12AX7 tubes. It's set to a moderate distortion, some input gain and a mild auto-wah effect.

The Zipper sounds pretty hot when kicked in, but I'd like to be able to give it a boost and take it to another level to achieve some of the quite extreme tube overdrive effects created achievable through Mesa Boogie amps (along the lines of Mick Harvey's live playing with Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds).

I don't want spaceship sounds or anything like that, but would like to scream and roar now and then over and above the usual distortion/overdrive sounds.

They seem amazing and cool but I couldn't ever see myself seriously using a self-oscillating noise looper thingy. Feedback's just easier.
