Recommendations for guitar pedlas/leads case?
« on: November 08, 2007, 10:03:20 AM »
Christmas is fast approaching and I'm going to ask the missus to get me a case for my tuner/leads/pedals etc for gigging.  The aluminium flight case type ones look cool.  Who makes the best ones?  Is there an industry standard?

:D Hi matey !

I use aluminium flight cases for my gigs. There actually photographic cases, for keeping films & camera`s in. You can remove the interior padding as it just slots out. There available in my area from Maplins & cost about £20 each. They do now make them in different sizes so have a look & see what you think. If you get them from music shops my guess is they`ll be a lot more in cost.

Oh yer  there very durable i highly recommend them.

I have one of these - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LARGE-TKL-PEDALBOARD-Effects-Pedal-FX-Case-board-NEW_W0QQitemZ230187884887QQihZ013QQcategoryZ22669QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Think I've had it for at least a year now and its held up great, built well and looks good. Can store all your cables etc in the zip pocket in the lid. Theres small and medium if the large is too big for you as well, wish I got that really as I only have 3 pedals!

I use the aluminium cases too and they are the best solution to the lead/gadget storage and cartage problem-plus I have been known to stick my amp on them on stage.I got mine from one of the large DIY stores at about £16 but that was 4 or so years ago.

Cheers everyone, especially JT!  I called in at my local Maplins tonight to check out the cases and walked out with a £14.99 bargain!

The foam bit in the middle comes out, so you have a nice big aluminum case for extension leads, spare strings, screwdrivers etc.  Perfect!

So the Christmas present idea has now moved on to a pedalboard. I'm thinking Diago Gigman at the moment......

That gigman looks overpriced. The TKL case looks like its roughly the same thing but its less than half the price :)

It's not overpriced. It's better quality and made in the UK.

The TKL one looks a fair deal for the money, but I can confirm that the Diago is built like a brick thingy.

You pays yer money and all that...

That's exactly what I use only it wasn't from Maplins. My Dad's a pro photographer and when he bought a new, bigger one - I swiped his old one. Much better than lugging shite around in a holdall. I need a bigger one but it's more than ample for now.

I kinda like the look of this one:

Them pockets in the top could be handy for a tuner, tools, tape, strings, etc...

My main pedalboard is the largest size Aluminium case that Warwick make.

It cost about £50ish and has been great so far
