That's the one with the maple cap - and 24 frets.
Problem is, I can't decide how aggressive I'm looking for...
[I've nearly finished paying back the loan I took out from myself, so am now thinking what pickups to go for...]

Of course, in an ideal world, I'd go for one with Warpigs and one with Painkillers. :)

my friend has one of these with Cold Sweats and i think it's overly bright - i'd go for the Warpig personally, or a Holydiver to warm it up a bit.

the holy diver with a moderate boost sounds very close to the warpig (and boosting adds a lot of dynamics), so it's a good option
but i still want an Iommi Sg with warpigs

Thanks folks.
One question: When I get my Warpigs, will my SG still make me feel like Jeremy Clarkson? "Will it be more grunty than a whole herd of blue hippo like things from .Hack?"

No its not that bad, with lower gain it has an awesome vintage (early Sabbath) warmth and tone.

If you wind it up then its a flamethrower...

Great! Sounds like what I'm looking for.
I bet I end up winding it up though. :)

Definitely the Warpigs . I have an Alnico pair in an SG and have never looked back ... they do low gain stuff, vintage metal (my main use for the SG) and also crank up to whatever-the-deuce-it-is-these-kids-listen-to these days OTT metal. A through-and-through metal pup, but can be good as well as evil :)

i agree with him ^^ the pig is remarkably versatile.  in fact i sometimes wonder why they bother with any other pickups!  okay, maybe Stormy Mondays, but there really seems to be very little the warpig can't do, and yes, i do have a pair.
cry HAVOC!! and let slip the pigs of war!!!

yeah the pig does have a very understated versatility to it, which seldom gets mentioned on these forums. Using the volume control alone you can get many great sounds without touching your settings. It is a monster when it wants to be, but that only scratches the surface of what it can do.

question for you guys - are you using alnico or ceramic, or one of each? what's the ideal combination? what are the differences?

i want to make a well-taylored decision before I spring for these.. im thinking dual pigs but i dont know for sure yet.
