So, as I said I'm using a Laney GH50L Bass:Middle:Treble 10:8:8, Volume 2, Gain 4 (And with drive gain 4 when it's engaged)
The guitars:
A) SG Goddess - Mississippi Queens
B) SG Supreme - Warpigs
C) Strat - Trilogy Suites
D) Les Paul - Burstbucker Pros.
In terms of volume, the order is C D B A - which came as a surprise...
In terms of tone, A B and C are really clear and D is much rougher - both with the drive switch on and with it off.
In terms of preference...
B is probably my favourite, with the drive off it's wonderfully clear, almost bell like, with the drive on... I don't know if it gets the tone, but it certainly (for me at least) captures the feeling of Black Sabbath...
C is, well with the drive on, it really gives me the feeling of Deep Purple. The treble really bites hard, drive on or off...
A is mellow... it's similar to B but less aggressive...
In fact, I can't really pick a favourite from the three
Gah, it's awful when your pickups are more articulate than you are...
