seeing BKP people on three continents in a couple of weeks was pretty cool - Ben, Phil, Jonathan and Gingataff. Too bad the planned London meeting didn't come off.

Went with Gingataff around the Ochanomizu area of Tokyo, and its surely the biggest and best musical district in the world - well, better than the ones I have seen anyway.

I managed to bring back a Burny P90 Les Paul Custom with chrome hardware - some might have seen my post on other parts of the forum. My luggage was a pain to lift, but it worked out fine and there was nothing extra to pay.

well, i thought my V buying days were over but... ;)

check the Edwards KK Downing!!

also I'd love one of those metal top Grecos with a PG Blues set ;)

and one of the shops had rare vintage stuff - including a real 1959 - they wouldn't let me play it though :(

There's also a store there where things don't seem RIGHT.

Yes, a store with hundreds of guitars......all left handed.

I've never tried buying an instrument and returning it to UK, but if anywhere it would be from Japan.

How did you actually get it back here?

flights to japan are expensive of course - being on the other side of the world, but i think its worth it as its such a comfortable and cool place. anyone on this forum should keep in mind bringing a little something back - such a wide variety of interesting stuff - keenly priced new and old. cool edwards guitars are everywhere, even in small cr@ppy shops which would sell 'indie' or whatever over here.

might make a post about the burny then ;)

the guitar came with a soft gig bag. the guys in the shop had pretty poor english - but knew all the essential guitar words. i asked how much it would be to upgrade to a hard case, and for an extra 25 quid i got an actually really nice les paul hard case. they even took japanese taxes off for me. then i just checked it in as hold luggage.
