Thanks steve. Orange seem to be well-thought of then.

A toss-up between Bogner and Orange it shall be.

Sam
personally I would say my 'cube' sounds as big if not bigger than some 2x12's. Alot is to do with the build quality and porting. However, the tone/sound is up to you. I would say as you already have a combo adding a Bogner cube would def. make it sound bigger than just a 2x12 all together.

If it's gonna make the sound noticeably bigger then a 1x12 would do me fine. Probably better in fact because I'm lazy when it comes to transporting stuff.

Hmmmm.

-Cheaper
-Lighter
-Smaller
-Great sound.

Bogner 1x12 looks very tempting!

don't forget it's build quality and ability to take off grille cloth to mic for recording.
It's a heavy lil effer for it's size too. And bigger than normal 1x12 due to design/porting.

"1x12 CUBE CLOSED BACK DUAL PORTED

Our little Bogner 1x12 Cube has become the industry standard for stereo rig and tri-amp effects speaker use. Unlike the traditionally stiff 80's style units, Bogner cabs are rich with vintage sweetness, microphones think it's a 4x12. Closed back and dual front ported, the Bogner 1x12 Cube comes loaded with a Celestion Vintage 30 or Classic 80 , plenty of low-end with nice bell-like highs. "

Yeah I read that little blurb somewhere else too.

What ohm rating is it by the way?

They can be 8 or 16 ohm.
Make sure wether your combo is series or parallel so you know which to/can be used.

Ah great, thanks.

Yeah the combo can have 1x16, 2x16, 1x8 or 2x8, so it#s all good.

NOT mismatched ohms though right?

Make sure to check the speaker rating in the combo to match and then run accordingly.

I.E. with 2x 16 ohms and the Shiva need to run at 8 ohm as it's parallel wired.

Ahh I see.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the combo speaker runs at 8. Will double-check though.

Did you mean there are two different Bogner 1x12s? (i.e. 8 or 16) or can it run at both?

you 'could' get 8 or 16 ohm Bogners. If you have 8 in the ENGL (depending how it is wired for extension cabs) you would probably best getting an 8 ohm Bogner (to match) and may need to run the amp at 4 ohm then (if wired for parralell).
