Alnico warpig on Mahogany baritone?

I recently picked up a baritone like this one, and i'll soon have a spare bridge Alnico Warpig to try on it, do you think it would sound good considering the guitar wood (mahogany) and the low tuning (B) ? Or what would be a better option ...I was considering one of the new duncan actives..I already have another baritone with a ceramic pig so please don't reccomend that one ;)

DO IT

(and dont forget that if its not bright enough or not heavy enough, you can raise the bridgewards or neckwards allen bolts to change the pickups EQ! Makes a world of difference)

I'd go for it. I've got an Alnico Warpig set in a mahogany/koa bodied Warmoth, and even though admittedly the lowest I tune is D, it never sounds muddy or lacks in clarity. I reckon it'll sound great.

That should work well. I've got a coil split switch on mine, and it's great for those clean moments.

I'm not sure tbh. I'm not at home for the next few days, but when i get back I'll take the backplate off my Warmoth and have a look for you.

Coil split and Hovland upgrade
« Reply #8 on: February 03, 2008, 09:06:23 PM »
so,any help with using the push-pull tone pot to split the coils? it would be appreciated.....anyways...i went ahead and took out the cr@ppy capacitor the tone pot was using and experimented with a spague orange drop....big difference when moving the pot around......tried both .022 and .033....... the .022 was perfect....but then i installed a hovland,.022 also and the low end when using high gain clears up greatly and seems to give me a tighter rythm tone......highly reccomended and inexpensive upgrade
