Ratrod, I Saw a great Rockabilly band...
« on: February 19, 2008, 08:46:14 AM »
I saw a great Rockabilly band last Saturday night at a pub in North London called The Runaway Boys. A 3 piece outfit. A Gretch with a bigsby into a Fender amp not sure which one as I was more into the listening and Beer! A double bass which the bloke was standing on like your bass player does and the drums. They did a few Stray Cat numbers very well, plus all the old rock and roll classics, plus a rock and roll version of The Clash's 'I Fought The Law' which was well cool!  :D

Blimey their from Sweden!!!  :o  :o

Well I never! This pub was only the Red Lion on The Hertford Road in Enfield. A real dump of an area, where I grew up. The pub landlord has done a great job with this pub though and has some really good bands on every Saturday night.

Yes they do look young! I think that video was a few years ago as they looked a it older the other night and their quifs were bigger!   They were a really polished act though, tight as a ducks arse!

Ah I didn't realise the clash didn't write that song! It's a cracker of a tune isn't it!

EDIT

Would this be the bloke who wrote it?
