Twenty quid will get you a set of Epi humbuckers on evilbay, if you pick the right auction.
Not saying they won't sound like sh!t but you can then sell the guitar with 'Epiphone' pickups
With regards to the Ultra 2, it looks - ok .. sounds - too good to be true. The real question though is who would
use it for it's acoustic capability?
In my experience a gigging guitarist will upgrade at some point to a higher end guitar and with all due respect to Epiphone this isn't a high end guitar.
I used an Epi LP live for a few years before I bit the bullet and got my Gibson LP. I had the Epi LP as a backup for a long time, so I'm not knocking Epi LP's here.
Now if it was a new model Gibson LP that had the nano mag, I would seriously consider buying one - as I use an acoustic live a lot - but there's no way I'm going back to an Epiphone as my main gigging guitar.
Just my opinion here. I'm not a Gibson LP snob, they're just far better instruments than Epi LP's - particularly in a live situation.
