The clean tones through the EF86 channel have the Voxy chime

Congrats on the new guitar and amp...but.... There's no Vox EF86 channel with any chime. Raunch a plenty, but no chime.
     !!

Can't agree with that Alan. Depends on your definition of "chime" obviously, but I've heard plenty of Vox's and Voxy amps that chime when in the "just breaking up" zone.
I'd define chime as a kind of harmonic ring that adds to the fundamental and sustains well, and makes cleanish sounds a bit special.
My own Mullard 510 special (much like an AC15) does it, as did my 3 watt Mullard based amp. The Matchless DC30 clone I did recently also did it.

I am going to get a set of Gold Lions.  I don't know if you can see but Nik put me a set of bias probe sockets and a bias trim pot.  He was telling me that he finds 38mA is about the 'magic' point for KT66's.

Saw the probe points, very handy to have those. I have my Gold Lions at 46-48mA, which is the max in the Vintage Modern according to the amp's designer Steve D. On 48 mA it's very meaty and rich.

Don't forget that the ideal cathode current will vary with anode voltage, which is likely to vary from amp to amp.
