Nailbomb Neck vs Bridge?

I'm looking to purchase a Nailbomb for my Standard Les Paul with Marshall Stack. A local store has them in stock but they say a neck and bridge nailbomb is the same. I was planning on maybe a Black Dog in the neck for vintage sound and the nailbomb in the bridge for modern crunch. Is this a good combo. And what are the correct values or numbers for a standard alcino bridge Nailbomb?  I would like to purchase locally, but don't know if they are correct. thanks for the help...

howcome every store that stocks BKs seems to be under the illusion that the neck pickup of the same name is the same as the bridge?

this really annoys me

the nailbomb neck is lower output and to me is quite a hot PAF sound with nice cleans

while the bridge has absolutely awful spikey cleans.

I really would advise just ordering directly, the chances are what you get will be far more suited, and Tim is there to consult...

The nailbomb bridge is about 16k, however I'm not sure about the neck. You could always email Tim and he'll let you know.

then again i HATE bridge cleans on all pickups so it was probably me over analysing it

All BKP neck models are different to the corresponding bridge pickup - they are specced specifically to work in the neck position & compliment the bridge model.

FWIW, the DCR values on my Nailbomb set are 16k Bridge, 10.3k neck.

The cleans on my bridge Nailbomb are smooth, middy and powerful.  As good clean as driven IMO.  But there's a lot to the positioning...  took me a while to get it set up just so.

I only ever found it spikey with the nailbomb, but that couldve been the guitar.

Im still to find a pickup that i like in it other than a emg 85

i may pull my miracle man out of my les paul and put it in.

then again i had to make a pickup ring and route the cavity a bit as the previous owner had modded it for some weird gibson pickup and it was a pain to get the pickup height and positioning right.

My 'bombs measure 15.9K bridge and 10.2K neck. Very different sounding, very good complement to each other. I'm not mad keen on the clean bridge sound, but I'd not say it was awful, I'm sure it has it's uses. The neck works clean very well.

'bomb bridge is really made for gain, add just a little and you get great tones, crank it all the way and you still get great tones.

No pup does EVERYTHING, but BK's are very versatile. People do seem to like breaking up a calibrated set I'm not sure why.
