pickups for my Warrior guitar.
« on: April 24, 2008, 03:09:10 AM »
I was just wondering if any of you guys had any suggestions for what pickups I should install in my Warrior instruments Gen-x. It has a solid mahogany body and a mahogany neck with a purpleheart tonebar.

I play mostly hard rock, metal and Paul Gilbert type shred. I also like to play some classic rock. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks

I think we need more information. How does the guitar sound as it is and what do you want changed? (IE, guitar sounds too bright, I want more low end) Do you prefer modern or vintage type tones? Which amp is it going into?

The guitar is already very bright and i want it to be a little darker and i am going for more of a modern sound.

My gut says Miracle Man or Painkiller.

Welcome to the forum, btw!

i'd say miracle man NECK model
it works very nice in the bridge and reminds of a dimarzio tone zone (lot of bass and mids, not too much treble, dark fat tone)
i believe that's paul gilbert's main pickup
but, as your guitar is mahogany, i'd put a holy diver to balance the lack of treble
