Need a new vocalist or two...
« on: May 21, 2008, 03:57:35 PM »
Hi all,

We have recently lost our vocalist, he's gone off to concentrate on poetry and knitting, and we are currently looking for one or two mental people to join the band as vocalists. I avoid using the term singer for a reason!

We're looking for hardcore vocals: screaming, some bellowing/metal roars when required, and very little (if any) melodic work.

not sure if this is the right place for it, though.

We're based in Oxford, and currently practice on Tuesday nights. We currently have 14 tracks (including one cover) "written" or "being written", all of which can be modified for new vocals as needed.

We're very keen to get gigging again!!

You can listen to the stuff in my sig to hear what we've done so far, but we are very flexible as to the sound, and we're not after "the same thing" necessarily.

PM me if interested!

Roo

Poetry and knitting? Was that seriously the reason?
"Would you like some lemon oil?"
"Oh, no thanks, I don't eat fruit."

I can't to be honest, especially the genre of the music.

"Nah, I'm outta here. I prefer poetry and knitting."

"I need to spend some time ordering my new, ever growing, doily collection by thickness."

"I've made you all some jumpers and some socks as a kind of parting gift"

I can live with the poetry idea but knitting does sound somewhat far-fetched somehow.
I too use chicken as a measurement.

The real reason was that he wanted to save his vocal range (or rather, recover it!). We have absolutely no hard feelings, but clearly he needs to be at least slightly chastised, hence the poetry and knitting.

But drat, and double drat, you people are too damned insightful!

Now, back to the topic of finding us a new vocalist!

I'd love to sing for you, but I'm afraid my singing sounds rather like a poet being stabbed with a knitting needle. :(
LOVING the Mules!
