Nailbomb tone changing after time!

i had a situation after some bad installation of my pickups

it took me a while to notice, but every now and then one of the wires from my neck pickup to the pots would shift slightly and touch the conductive paint on the inside of the wood, cutting out a large part of the tone and crunch. maybe this happened the other way round for you?

simple fix was just to get it re soldered back into position.

i'm with MDV's idea. probably the neck relief changed when you fitted the pickups - now it has stabilsed. this has affected the position of the strings above the pickup.

i've noticed similar in the past

you wouldn't use the meat knife on crusty bread but, equally, the serrated knife and straight edge knife aren't going to go through raw meat as quickly

Weird, but probably just something to do with the amp.
