« on: July 17, 2008, 08:45:38 PM »
hi everyone,
getting a set of trilogy suites with a baseplate on the bridge soon for my strat in order for that ritchie blackmore hi-gain tone.
would you recommend 500k pots, or should i remain with my standard 250k pots? whats the difference in tone?
thanks

The higher value pots will give you more clarity and brightness. :)

I would go with 500k pots. You can always turn the tone knobs down to lose high end, afterall :)

As a general rule I advise 500K although it obviously depends on the guitar. A very bright, maple fingerboard Strat would probably handle 300K and conversely an extremely dark guitar would be better with 1 meg pots.
