Heritage H150 les paul

Hi

I was wondering if anyone has or have tried a Heritage les paul style guitar, and what they think of them, tried one the other day and it was really rather nice.

I know next to nothing about them only the company was started by ex-gibson employes when they moved to Nashville.

Is £1300 a far price for one with a small dink in the finish on the front between the next pu and switch about 7mm long by 2mm wide 1mm depth (shop damage rather than finishing flaw)? They say they have dropped the price from £1400 but not sure how much these would normally go for.

Personally I would want it to be a little cheaper still but not sure if I'm taking the pee and this is a bargain  as it is  or if they are the one taking the piss asking that much for damaged goods.

Any ideas appreciated

That seems a very fair price for a USA made guitar of that spec
Remember it is built in the old Gibson Factory in Kalamazoo

the value never holds as well when they dont say gibson on the headstock.

They have the old factory and old tooling that made the ones we all want... how much that actually counts for i am not sure but i seem to remember guitarist being quite keen

is it new or second hand?  If its new its a fair price but you might be able to knock a little more off with the flaw

I used to have a Heritage LP
It had been made for Doug Boyle who was Robert Plant's guitarist at the time.
It weighed a ton but felt great and sounded brilliant too
I was informed that the neck on that one had been done by Marv Lamb who apparently had done the LP necks in the late 50s, and whilst i took that with a pinch of salt - it was a great neck

I have always liked the Heritage guitars that I have had in - pretty well made in the Gibson style
I guess that hey dont hold their value like an old Gibson would but are great players guitars

I would say that £1300 is fair if it's a new guitar with a small dink, but I would haggle them down further to around £1100 if you can.

However ... I would agree that the one that Jonathan posted looks like a much better option at £850 - if indeed it only has 'light playing wear'.
