Fatter Bridge PuP
« on: August 08, 2008, 04:10:10 PM »
I currently have a standard calibrated Stormy set but sometimes fancy a bit more kick and fatness to the bridge.  What pickup would match well with the SM neck?

What about a Mississippi Queen?  Would the mix sound work?

My SM's are AII.

Cheers

I have a couple of different bridge pickups with SM necks, Riff Raff and AV Mule.  However I have AIV SM's with them so I'm not sure how they would sound with the AII SM.  Of the two, my favourite is the AV Mule.  It is a very old school rock pickup with a nice aggressive edge to it.  You could also get an AII Mule, which would be a bit fatter than the SM if you didn't want to push too much.  The MQ bridge is a great sounding pickup too, but I am a big fan of P-90's.  It has much more drive than the SM, but also has a single coil grittiness that you won't get with a humbucker.
So many pickups, so little time
