Metallica - Blackened remaster (by moi)
« on: September 30, 2008, 04:25:10 PM »
Using the Guitar Hero stem files i remastered blackened using adobe audition 3 and a hell of a lot of EQing

this is just a preliminary mix as i feel the bass is a tad loud but anyways im just here for feedback on the initial shot

this is a result of extreme boredom on my part due to the difficulty of finding a job in the current economical climate where companys are firing rather than hiring.

Anyways back to the job search for now

LOL at the bass.

This is fine if you're listening through teeny tiny cheapy earphones...

no i EQd all the guitar and drum parts as best i could and also took the vocals down in the mix.

the one that was done on the metboards was just a guy recording bass over the album

Really sorry Transcend but if I were you I'd scr@p what you've done and try again. It's just too bassy and scoopy and messy in the guitar department, and the drums just sort of sound...wrong. Vocals are alright!

If this is how people want music to sound then I think I understand why records keep sounding worse and worse...

EDIT: Sounds pretty rude. I'm really sorry  all IMHO obviously

The song is bassy enough as it is. If anything, that song needs a completely new bass guitar line. Something that complments the guitars, something that sits between the drums and guitars, not a mirror image of the rhythm guitar.
