Anyone know anything about the new Vox Satchurator pedal? When is it available in UK? Anyone heard one?
I am not young enough to know everything

I don't know when the UK release date is but because Vox is owned by Korg they came out over here back in June, and they're currently out of stock in all the shops I've been to, which would appear to be a good sign!
I tried a demo model in one shop although I used it with a Line6 POD XT Live (which is my ususal set up) so I can't comment on how it sounds with a real amp. However...I'd say It's a fairly fat sounding distortion, not a metal sound but that full saturated distortion that Satriani has. The tone control is very much like the BOSS DS-1, below 12 o'clock cuts treble and above 12 o'clock cuts bass - I think this is best used to match the pedal to your guitar and amp settings rather than as an actual eq control. The More switch adds extra girth if your gain is set to maximum or will automatically boost you to "10" if you have the gain set lower.  Overall it's a much more mature distortion than most production pedals but I'm not sure if it's any better than a modded DS-1. I still think I'll get one though cos they're only about 60 quid here.

I've just bought a Duncan Twin Tube Mayhem and it's got my pedal gas going crazy. Metal is now covered but..

I really want a Satchurator to cover all the other ground...

Has anyone else had a chance to try one?

Brothers You should seriously look into the Vox Bulldog or maybe the Radial Plexitube Hot British. Those have have two channels of Distortion and they sound better than the Satchurator. My quest for the perfect Pedal started at the Satchurator, and Ibanez Tube King, and went through Blackstar Pedals Keely- and now I have ended with the Bulldog. Cant beat two channels of sculpt able distortion

I tried to pick up a Satchurator again last week after being told at the start of Sept that they would be here in Oct. Still no joy! Thomann states a delivery date of 29 Oct......... could it all just be a conspiracy theory!!

I played a Satchurator a few weeks ago at a mates house. He works at Digital Village and had it at home, along with a load of other pedals, to try out.

Personally, I thought it was aload of cr@p.   A truly uninspiring, Solid-state sounding, forgettable pedal.

Best stick with the Blackstar HT Dual then!
