Switch tips to fit japanese toggle switch?
« on: April 05, 2009, 04:55:06 PM »
The tip to the 3way toggle on my Pearl LP broke. Left it on my shelf but mum seems to have chucked it away before I got a chance to glue it back together! So I need a new one, but dont know which I need. Axesrus have the following:

"(IMPORT SWITCH) PLASTIC TOGGLE TIPS (NOT FOR GIBSON SWITCHCRAFT)"
http://www.axesrus.com/axenob.htm

Are those the right ones for jap copies do you reckon?

edit - wd music also have this one - http://www.wdmusic.co.uk/product/DIRTCHEAP_METRIC_TOGGLE_SWITCH_TIP_CREAM_DCLPTIPC

Tom - I have a white one that will fit an import (non-Switchcraft) toggle switch.  If that'll suit, you can have it and I'll post it to you?

Being a bit picky but would prefer cream/aged white like the old one if I could get it! Thanks for the offer anyway.

I think either of the ones you listed should fit.

TBH, the plastic threads inside are pretty soft so sometimes you can "force" them to fit anyway.

I guess that's when they tend to break then

You could probably heat it up with a hairdryer, then it'd be more likely to be compliant with re-threading it. Just don't screw it down too much, i think that's when they break.
