replacing neck pup in Goldtop... BKP Sustaaaaaaaaaaaain
« on: December 13, 2008, 10:20:03 PM »
Hey guys, getting ready to order. I'm replacing an Alnico II Pro with most likely a Mule, or Black dog, not sure about other Vintage Hot pups. The Alnico II sustains for ever. So my question is: how is the Mule's sustain?? Days I hope!! Thanks
Trying to find where I've been...

If you're a fan of the A2P tone, A2 Stormy Mondays just do it better :D I haven't tried SMs in an LP, but they sound amazing in my superstrat. I always recommend Mules in LPs, though, because when I had mine, the Mules sounded soooo good. I've been trying to recapture that tone after selling my LP, to no avail :D Mules have no problem whatsoever with sustain, and a nice fat, beefy but articulate, tone.
BKPs (soon): CS, TS.
Ex-BKPs: Abrax, NB, SM, PK, Mule, WP.

I used to have an Emerald/Mule set in my Goldtop and they sounded great, I changed them to a PG Blues set because I wanted the Perter Green sound, but I have them in a Zemaitis Metaltop clone now, and they still sound brilliant.
