A bit of a price difference but I would go for the Tokai everytime.
I think I hate being indecisive.

i've only tried one hagstrom (it was similar to that model though), and while i've tried a bunch of tokais, i don't think i've tried that exact model. that being said, and based on what i have tried, i'd go with the tokai, no question. assuming the extra money isn't a problem.

The tokai, though not from there

Why not?  I thought they were a decent dealer?

i tried an hagstrom but didn't impress me much... plus the tokai is a faithful copy of a les paul and so i prefer it by principle!  :)

I've heard that they're a OK dealer, with a penchant for over charging & with not setting-up guitars. Don't get me wrong I've not bought from there so I can't really make that personal a comment. But I'd rather buy from somewhere else

Overcharging? I've done a google search for Tokai dealers and I couldn't find it cheaper elsewhere.

Tokai will beat it in nearly every department.

I can't stand the look of those Hagstroms.
