Marshall BB2
« on: January 13, 2009, 12:01:45 PM »
Wondering if i can get your opinions on this pedal?

Im interested as im looking for a boost pedal for my marshall but id also like something i could use as a pure overdrive if im borrowing an amp etc so i have something im familiar with and that will give me enough gain if the particular amp is lacking crunch etc.

Im interested in this as it seems fairly cheap for what it offers but dont know if the quality and tone is any good or whether the boost colours your tone a lot etc.

alternatively if anyone can suggest anything else to do the job which isnt too expensive then go for it

cheers

I had one and it's not that great - very fizzy and mushy.

I have a Maxon OD-9 Tube Screamer for sale that blows the BB2 away.  I only want £65 for it posted to your door  ;)  See the Seconds Out section......

Cheers for that mate, i was pretty sure that would be the case with the marshall pedal.

I'll have a look into the maxon and let you know - does that work as a solo boost?

You'll get more gain and saturation for leads, yes.  Not really a volume jump though, you'll need an effectcs loop and an EQ or volume pedal for that.
