I fancy a Klon... but damn they're expensive!! :/

Looks as if you're paying a lot for the 'screen printing'/case. Seems lots of maufacturers are 'gooping' the electronics to hamper reverse engineering.

I once saw a job advertised for reverse engineering.  At least they were up front about it.
Advice worth what you just paid for it.

I'm glad somebody's cleared that up!  :) 

I was reluctant to comment given my general ignorance of pedals, but I even went and read the manual for the Klein-ulator and couldn't see any Klon-alike features.

It's a Dumbleator clone isn't it? Larry Carlton talks about them on one of his instruction videos.

Ridiculous, I would never waste that much money on an overdrive pedal. Theres no way it'll sound £500 good :P
