New Pedals
« on: March 08, 2009, 04:18:56 PM »
Just picked up two new pedals today.

1. BB Preamp
2. Hardwire tuner pedal.

First impressions are very good.

BB preamp is  my favourite distortion pedal i now own. My first dirt box was the DS-1. Cheap but pretty decent. Very good value. I then got a crunch box. A big step up in sound and quality. I then got a Fulltone Fulldrive2 which I still ownand really like but its more a distinct sound and tube screamer type pedal. I also own a Blackstar Dual Pedal. Again a pretty good pedal and i sold my crunch box to upgrade to this. I think I mahy keep it a while. It can do a large variety of sounds and sounds pretty good. However, I got a Cornford Carrera the other week and I love its overdrive sounds. The BB is perfect at pushing it further whilst not massively increasing volume. It just oozes harmonics and sustain. It really is a little gem. I was a little reluctant at the price £175 now the exchange rate has changed but it really makes the difference and gives me another channel sound without changing the sound of my amp. Recommend this to anyone.

The Hardwire pedal is a decent tuner. I had a look at quite a few they had and was impressed with the build quality and clarity of the display. I wanted true bypass pedal. The Korg Pitchblack was also good but looked a little cheap and the display was very "Nightrider". The Hardwire is quite large but is accurate and will last forever.

The BB is the core of my live sound.  Had mine about 12 months - love it.

I'm in love with my AC booster for low-mid gain sounds.

If the exchange rate wasn't quite so bad at the moment, I'd be all over a BB.  The Xotic pedals are truly top notch !

I may still get a BB yet !

Next pedal coming in, though, is a Krank Distortus Maximus !    My JT has enlarged by almost a foot already, and it hasn't even arrived yet !!

turbo tuner looks awesome!
ive been using a TU-2 and ive been getting annoyed at how it seems to be a bit off.
i tune once, then tap the pedal off and on again, and i need to tune all over.
and the G string is always a nightmare.

i thought about getting a peterson but this thing looks better and cheaper for whati want it for.
