mules... i did it.
« on: March 26, 2009, 04:49:48 PM »
:o i'm a bit stunned, because i just bought other 2 sets and i've been assaulted by a colossal sense of guilt... i've ordered
1) a RY set for my S320 (now i've got a new set of nailbombs in a much better guitar, the SA2020... the S320 was meant to be used live, but i preferred to buy a brand new set rather than keep a duplicate...) (sooner or later i'll order a Cpig for the same reason... you know, now i've got TWO bridge Apigs... i'm an idiot, i know.), and this means that soon i'll sell a mint black covered NB set (anyone interested?)
2) a mixed set of mules (AIV neck and AV bridge) for my gibson les paul classic antique... just tell me i actually needed to replace the classic 57 stock pickups, please... bridge was really pretty, but neck was way too warm and muddy for my tastes...
i'm looking for that classic rock ballad sound (those things i loved when i was REALLY young... skid row, g'n'r, scorpions...) for my les paul. have i done the right choice? i know that slash uses AII duncans, but i'd like to have a bit more punch and a clearer neck.

Standard Mules are great in a LP, so a bit hotter should be fine. Mine are standard, and do the "classic rock" type of sound wonderfully with a good valve amp.
Les Paul Standard with Mules, Charvel Fusion, Cornford MK50H & 2x12, Trace Elliot Speed Twin C100.
