hi , im new to the forum but have used bare knuckle pickups for a while . anyway i have a strat that i used as a second guitar , so i put a dimarzio tone zone in ,cos on my other guitar it sounded great , thing is it sounded to muddy in this strat so i tried some kent armstrongs in it that were at hand , the bridge was about 14-15k and was ceramic , this sounded brighter and a tad better but it still sounded ceramic if you know what i mean , i then got hold of an old 80-90s seymour jbj but that had a nasty little mid range spike and was still a bit dark , i then tried the cold sweat ( before putting it into a v ) and was the best so far but still a tad bright . i have the holy diver in two other guitars and was hoping to find something different , when talking with tim he said the crawler could be a good option , and from other posts the r yell . so what i need is a pickup with a hotish output that will be a tad less treble than the cold sweat and a touch birghter than a holy diver ,,,, would the crawler or r yell give this ,or any other suggestions would be great. i thought about a vh11 but think it might be a bit under powered for what i want . i like to shred  :D

Your description sounds like a Nailbomb to me (brighter than HD, not as bright as a CS, like to shred, hot)

yes thats a thought to the nailbomb could be a good poss choice mmm,,,,maybe i should not have put shred in my post as i do like to shred out but also like to delve into other styles too , i play in a cover band playing 80-90s rock like scorpions to daves yankee rose to ozzys shot in the dark , that sort of thing ,so it sort of needs to be a good all rounder ... o yer i like to clean up on the volume too , i had a nailbomb once in a les paul was pretty good although im not sure how versitile it was as i used it for drop tunings and never touched the volume control ... any thoughts on that anyone .... i know it must be boring all these threads about what pickup but i suppose its hard not to considering its a pickup forum ha ha  :?

anybody got any experience with the ry and crawler bridge pu to judge what i need ?

Although I don't own either, I have tried both of them & the Rebel Yell sounds more like what you want.

The Crawler is not brighter than the Holy Diver - if anything it is warmer with an even more rounded top end (i.e. less bright)

The Nailbomb is a good call too - about halfway between the RY & HD in terms of power, with cutting upper mids/top end, very versatile & dynamic.

Rebel Yell is great. It works better in my LP Custom than CS or HD did. About same output as HD and CS. More treble and presence than HD. Less treble and more mids than CS.

well i decided what im doing , as i have ,,4,, bare knuckle pickups im going to try the EVH pickup that has just been released ,will put it in the guitar tomorrow , if that is no good will just sell it and get a BK ,,, BK are great just would like to try diff things .......
