so i went and got the castors and the centre pillar back this morning before work.
while i was at Zilla Music, i had a quick chat about the centre pillar. it was left out by mistake but we spoke about screwing it back in. there was an Orange cab in there that had the centre pillar but it just had some fabric on the end. not screwed into through the back panel. apparently a lot of marshall have the centre pillar with no screw fixing it to the back. paul at zilla was telling me all about that. im going to put mine back to tonight, and rewire the cab for 16ohm mono with 8 ohm stereo so i make use of all the holes in the plate i have. don't know if ill screw the back panel to the centre brace. might leave it for now, see how it goes. i imagine there is a tonal difference when leaving it out for a number of reason. im a little worried about the centre brace vibrating on the back panel and making a noise, but i think ill leave the wadding in place on the back to cushion the end of the brace.
apparently, so paul was saying, after cabs are retolexed and screwed back together tighter than before you can gain a few mm of space between the baffle and rear, so the wadding should pad that out.
easy!
