Hi all,

I want to swap the pickups out of my Carvin Bolt T. It's an alder bodied Strat clone with an ebony board and a Wilkinson trem that's recessed. It has a bridge humbucker and singles in the neck and middle. The stock units are medium power and ok sounding but nothing inspiring. I'm going to be playing mostly through a Line 6 Pod XT Live.

I tend to favor more experimental players. Some of my favorites include Vernon Reid of Living Colour, Larry LaLonde of Primus, Tom Morello,Joe Satriani, Brian May, Eddie Van Halen, Jimi Hendrix and David Gilmour.

Also will the pickguards that BKP has fit my Carvin?

Thanks in advance.

Eric

Hi there -  :P

I'd go with Mothers Milk for the singles, a touch more power than the Apaches or Sultans, but still a vintage tone. Or for a Texas Special vibe go with the Irish Tours.

As fo the humbucker it depends if you want vintage or modern tone. One forum member has got some great tones with a Mule in a strat, but if you're looking to get more midrange and have your strat gain some tonal weight look at the the Crawler.

hope that helps - check out the players forum!
