Ceramic Warpig - Just installed!!
« on: May 05, 2009, 01:50:58 AM »
Holy balls!!! This is easily the best pup I've ever played. Just installed in my Jackson Dominion with series/parallel switching. Already have a Duncan 59' in the neck and it matches surprisingly well. The overall thickness is tremendous but not overpowering. The clarity is astounding across the board and sustain is sensational. I have a 300k vol pot that it's wired to which actually works out perfectly for me. I was afraid it might dull the dynamics and output of the pup but that isn't the case at all. Seems to take just the right edge off the high end so you get the perfect amount of treble and cut without any shrillness/harshness. Actually, I'm positive it'd sound just as good with a 500k, but it sounds perfect for my tastes as it is so I'm not going to change it.

Overall, the perfect pup for me with plenty of power, clarity, chunk & grind. Oh, and cleans up amazingly. Just giddy and happy and wanted to share!

I've been tempted to put one of these in my Jackson Professional Fusion for a while, replacing a DiMarzio. I don't use that guitar much though so not put the cash in to it...  :D
A-Pig 7s, Miracle Man & Mule, Cold Sweats... Expensive kit and no talent posse.

Thanks all. Yes indeed it's a great feeling and I can't get enough of it. Already ordered another BKP - an overwound Miracle Man (10 % increase per Tim based on the tonal description I submitted to him)!! It's on it's way and I can't wait to put it in one of my other 2 axes.

My C-Pig was homeless for quite a while - it found its way back to a guitar the other week. I'd forgotten how utterly crushingly brutal it is (or can be, rather), and that it maintains such clarity through the power.

Great pickup. Its between that and the PK for my favourite.

For some reason, I can't help but have an unreasonable interest in overwound pickups. What are you using the MM for? (as in body material, music types, etc.)
BKP Team: Bridge MQ, Black. Bridge HD, Raw Nickel.
To Do: Bridge Nailbomb in chrome (?)

I'd not even thought of requesting an overwound actually. I simply explained to Tim that I had a Miracle Man that came with a cheapie guitar I bought from a friend and loved it. Except for the treble/high end - it's a bit too much for my tastes. So, I asked if he could make one with a touch of that rounded off and keep the rest as is. He replied that a 10% overwind would meet my needs.

At any rate, I'll be putting it in my 1988 Les Paul Standard first and if it's not quite right (though I'm sure it will be) it'll go in my Washburn BT-8. The latter is a thin mahogany body with maple neck and top, rosewood board. The former is a 9 pound mahogany monster with a this maple top, mahogany neck and rosewood board. Can. Not. Wait.

like me, you've been bowled for six by the brilliant BKPs.
Now, you will rock harder and sound the best you can get without acid!
