Well, kicked off the order process March 2007. I told Doug 'as & when' which pretty much stuck.
I was the last person on his backlog list which didn't really bother me that much... let him finish other folks' instruments first, all good with me.
I changed specs from 6 to 7 strings at the end of that year, and decided on the body autumn 2008. There was also an issue with one of his timber suppliers 1st half of 08 which really helped screw the timings up.
The most stressful part was the last few weeks when I knew that it was close to completion!
FWIW he had cut the body to be a 6 string exhibition piece but hadn't assembled a guitar out of it. When I went round to pick woods I kind of fell in lust with it and snagged it when I found that it didn't have a buyer. This means that it's slightly thinner then his regular 7 string builds so I can't put really silly strings on it, but I don't anyway... Finding out afterwards that the body is cut from the same wood as my B2 was a bonus.
