Which BKPs are available for 7 string?
« on: June 01, 2009, 11:14:12 PM »

The other guitarist in my metal band play a 7 string Ibanez, and he said he wanted to change pickups, because he likes how my guitar has so much beef :O)

Which models are available as 7-string?

All of the humbucker models are available in seven and eight-string. They're only available uncovered and in black, though. I heard about someone on this forum getting a seven-string MQ, but he said it was such a process.

and they're good. really good. the entire range really handles the low B! well. from my experience. i have a mule and a black dog. no fartiness here. i figure the contemporary range is so modern it won't dissapoint either!

For a 7 string Ibanez I would recommend a CS or MM. I assume it is basswood?

Yeah it's Basswood and he currently has Blaze IIs in there, which are Ceramic 22K!!!!

Not sure if Cold Sweats are so good because he wants more beef, CSs are very bright aren't they?

How much extra are 7 string versions compared to the 90GBP of a standard HB?

They're 9 pounds more. Cold Sweats might work well, it's the MM that's known for its brightness.

you seem to say he wants a C-Pig here right ?

Haven't tried the CS yet but Tim told me it was one of the brightest BKP available (at least in the modern range).

The CS is much brighter than the Miracle Man. The MM is quite fat. I like the CS in basswood, but think the MM would be better suited to your friend.
