Oh yes - I just got lucky though - I think he'd just found a plank under a stack of other stuff when I happenned to call him, so I grabbed it!


What kind of finish did you go for?
Just simple oil - 3 thin coats allowing each to dry for 5-6 hours, and doing a little light (1000 grit) sanding, before applying the next coat.

I've only ever done oil finishes, but I think I need to learn some other techniques now as I'm getting bored with just oil.  Maybe I'll try some staining and RPC finishes in future ...
