Had some fun with my amp.
« on: June 10, 2009, 04:10:56 AM »
Well when I first got my 5150 it was missing the front logo panel so the tubes and everything were exposed. Looked cool, but I wanted the front panel for it so I started looking. I initially had no luck so I had custom logos made up and was going to make up my own plate. Well as luck would have it as soon as I ordered the custom logos I get a pm that someone has the logo panel so I buy and install it. Once again it looks cool, but I wanted the amp to look a little different and I already had custom logos. So I finally said what the hell and got it done. So here are before and after pics. What do you guys think?

its got a boston celtics vibe to it.
always nice to do something a bit different
we played a festival once with a lot of 5150s around and my bandmate ended up back home (500km away from the show) with a mkI when he owned a mkII
I didnt have that problem

I like the custom plate with the new cab front, it looks odd on top of a black cab, but works with the new cab face.

Looks real nice.

Everyone likes to customise their 5150s, they just ask for it :O)

I had one of the first series, bought in 92 or 93 and first thing I did was have a steel plate made by my brother in law, looked real mean

Yeah as soon as I did the head I knew I had to do something to make the cab match. Now I love it. definately different. I have heard the Celtics thing about 10 times already. Being born and raised in New York I can assure you that was not my intention :) Murray that red tolex and camo 5150 is awesome. Really with this I just wanted to do something that was different yet easily reversible so I didn't ruin the value of the amp should I ever sell it in the future.
