PAS is getting the best of me... looking for a neck pickup
« on: June 30, 2009, 03:51:52 PM »
I'm interested in making my third BKP purchase (as soon as my funds allow, of course!). Instead of sticking to bridge pickups forever, as I intended, I'm thinking of buying a neck pickup to go with the holydiver in my guitar. I don't want the neck to overpower the bridge, but I want a pickup that will cut nicely, is bright in the neck position, and can do finger tapping well. I also want something that would crunch and possibly do split sounds with proficiency as well. I was thinking of trying something ceramic in an attempt to finally have a good experience with that sort of pickup, but also so I'd have an interesting contrast to the AVs I've grown to love. Any suggestions?

(or you all could tell me that such a pickup is impossible so I can try to hold on to a couple of bucks!  PDT_002)
BKP Team: Bridge MQ, Black. Bridge HD, Raw Nickel.
To Do: Bridge Nailbomb in chrome (?)

Think the neck model of the Holydiver will be right up your street. Clear and bright is how it's described, and would match the bridge perfectly.
Mississippi Queens, Holydiver.

if you want a ceramic, then Painkiller.

Otherwise,

I want a pickup that will cut nicely, is bright in the neck position, and can do finger tapping well.
I also want something that would crunch and possibly do split sounds with proficiency as well.

Cold sweat anyone ?
