Cold Sweat stays for now.
« on: July 27, 2009, 02:44:12 PM »
The Cold Sweat neck I bought for the swamp ash Tele is now in a Wolfgang USA STP....
It was way too bright for the Tele, but this particular Wolfie is uber dark.
Before discovering Bare Knuckle, I put a set of pups from another manufacturer in one of my Wolfgang USA Standards and they were fine, but the same pups did not work well in this one, at all.
Now I'm back to the stock bridge pup and the CS in the neck, the reverse zebra makes it look stock.

It still has plenty of bass in this guitar while being very bright and clear, but there is no out of control screaming upper mids like it did in the Tele.
I'm not having the gushing, giggling love affair that I get from the Nail Bomb, but it is nice and will stay put for awhile.

You should treat yourself (and your Wolfie!) to a Cold Sweat bridge...
Nailbomb or Holydiver might work for the tele

The Tele has a Nail Bomb bridge, MQ neck. I LOVE this set up. Nail Bomb Owns....

Next purchase is another Nail Bomb for a Strat I'm building now.

Then I got a loooong list of Bare Knuckles that are needed.

Is there such a thing as a NB 7?
Would it be tight enough on the lows for  A-E-A-D-G-B-E tuning?

The Holydiver is really at home in alder guitars, you might want to consider it for your strat.
You can definitely get a 7-string nailbomb, all BK humbuckers are available in seven-string, there's also someone on the forum with a 7-string MQ, but I forgot who exactly.

Strat is mahogany w/swamp ash cap, maple/maple neck. Two pickups, I have the BKP 91 for the mid/neck position.

Did I mention I LOVE the Nail Bomb!!?!?!
