Gary @ Marshall HQ

Whenever I start to go off Gary Moore, I see something that reminds me of why I started liking him in the first place...

I like this clip a lot.  I think that there's a lot of the fire in there that I used to love Gary for.

GM is someone I have very mixed feelings about, but that was great - guitar and vocal.  :)

As you said, there's some real fire in it.  Something that's really bugged me since he decided he's a "bluesman" is the way he's often almost in denial of his aggressive, rock side.

One thing I noticed..... if you watch that clip with your eyes slightly screwed up he looks exactly like Jeremy Clarkson.  :P

That's exactly how I feel.  His 1980/90s rock stuff has some of the best examples of the genre ever.

Great tone! Sounds like he has a pair of socks in his mouth though.

I think the biggest problem I have with his playing is once you've heard it once you've heard it all. Regardless of how well played his licks are they're so predictable.

not sure i agree fully - that lick he does at 8m25 is right off the wall, really shreddy

(often his playing is pure cheese though)

I liked GM's blues stuff when it first came out, but I was a confused teenager and didn't know better

I think his old shred stuff stands up better, despite the dodgy hairdoos and pouting 80s rockness...
